Weekly wisdom #6

Today: Don't sweat the small stuff. There'll always be things out of our control - that's just how life works - but keep your cool, you've got this.
Yes to less stress.

London to Brighton

From Durham, to London, to "London-By-The-Sea": after a very brief overnight in my much-missed SE ends - the Easter break couldn't have come quickly enough - the fam and I set off bright and early on Saturday morning for a short but oh-so sweet seaside road trip.

We're big fans of Brighton in our little household. Far enough to feel like a getaway, but close enough to seize the day on arrival (we reached Hove by 10am), the picturesque city is brimming with soul soothin' sights and retail delights.
And we do like to be beside the seaside.

While Salpal and siblet hopped off for a couple of hours to check out BIMM - mad that the baby sis has reached that stage already - I was left on my (very contented) ones to soak in the salty air and let the wind blow through my hair. Armed with my trusty camera, naturally.

Of course, no mini break would quite be complete without a sweet eatery or three. Though somewhat spoilt for choice in this gem of a city, my culinary- and caffeine-oriented standouts of the weekend were Food for Friends (the vegetarian restaurant of dreams) and Cafe Coho (lovely breakfast spot). That's one way to start an Easter holiday; Brighton rocks.

Procraftination

One of the perks to having old school pen pals, aside from keeping snail mail alive and kickin', is the totally valid excuse - not that justification is needed - to indulge my all too neglected creative proclivity amidst the current influx of (far-from-creative) academic essays. In the age of instantaneity, hand-crafted "vintage emails" are all the more treasured and, strangely, novel. We've gotta keep it up. This curious collage number's en route to my main Berlin-based Irish grrl, Cat.

Weekly wisdom #5

Today: Don't be penned in by the "shoulds" and "shouldn'ts". Question everything, go beyond the familiar, get creative. Live outside the box!

A visual diary: 4 days in Berlin

Not that confirmation was required, at all, but last week's all too fleeting visit to my Berloved completely, totally and utterly cemented my post-uni living plans. The first-rate company, expertly timed weather and super fine food jaunts only added to the traumhaft trip. Ohh, there's just something - well, a lot of things - about the beaut German capital that brings me an ineffable kinda contentment. It's all a bit much. To save me from trying and failing to do wordy justice to it all, here's a lil visual documentation of my fresh 4-day Berlin stint:
