London to Brighton

From Durham, to London, to "London-By-The-Sea": after a very brief overnight in my much-missed SE ends - the Easter break couldn't have come quickly enough - the fam and I set off bright and early on Saturday morning for a short but oh-so sweet seaside road trip.

We're big fans of Brighton in our little household. Far enough to feel like a getaway, but close enough to seize the day on arrival (we reached Hove by 10am), the picturesque city is brimming with soul soothin' sights and retail delights.
And we do like to be beside the seaside.

While Salpal and siblet hopped off for a couple of hours to check out BIMM - mad that the baby sis has reached that stage already - I was left on my (very contented) ones to soak in the salty air and let the wind blow through my hair. Armed with my trusty camera, naturally.

Of course, no mini break would quite be complete without a sweet eatery or three. Though somewhat spoilt for choice in this gem of a city, my culinary- and caffeine-oriented standouts of the weekend were Food for Friends (the vegetarian restaurant of dreams) and Cafe Coho (lovely breakfast spot). That's one way to start an Easter holiday; Brighton rocks.
