As fast as it's flying by, I've thankfully still got a fair amount of time left in my little dream Stadt before I start gettin' all emotional. It is, however, coming to an end - temporarily at least - for my favourite Dutch dolls, Lisa and Anne. We're refusing to properly acknowledge their impending departure, instead focusing on some last minute memory making within the realm we know and love best: good food.
It's no exaggeration to say that Spud and I are very, very seasoned visitors of CUBE, Kreuzberg's stellar sushi spot. So it would've been rude not to introduce our fellow sushi lovin' amigas to our much frequented foodie locale before they leave. And our Berlin native Alissa wasn't gonna miss out either.
We'll never know how my reservation for "Brogues" became a table for "Deo", but the potentially offensive name change at least provided some momentary distraction from our voracious appetites, while we waited...and waited...for the wondrous mountain of sushi that eventually graced us with its über palatable presence.
I'd love to paint a sophisticated picture of us delicately savouring every morsel, but in reality it didn't take us two minutes to devour our prodigious platter (it did take nearly two hours to arrive). We were just too hungry, and it was just too good. Though we did appreciate the mad sushi mastery from afar as we drooled over it being prepared, of course. And coming in at less than 10€ per person, the price was pretty unbeatable too.
Sushi awe aside (the warm crispy variety never ceases to blow my mind a bit), the super lovely company naturally topped it all off. Definitely an evening for the memory bank.
